Getting to First Class
The rank of Scout requires that the scout completes the requirements listed in the Boy
Scout handbook, and demonstrates them to a scoutmaster.  He then must ask the
scoutmaster for a Scoutmaster's Conference where he will review his requirements with the
scoutmaster.  No Board of Review is required to advance to Scout.
The ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class and First Class may be worked on
simultaneously, but must be earned in sequence. There are no time requirements for
these ranks.

A scout must attend at least one campout to advance to First Class. A campout is
defined as three meals and one night of camping with the troop.

Requirements must be signed off by another scout that is at least a Star scout, however
he may not be in the same patrol. The Scoutmaster or any Assistant Scoutmaster may
also sign off requirements.

Once the Scoutmaster Conference is complete and all requirements are met for rank
advancement, the Scout must have a Board of Review where the Troop Committee will
meet with the Scout and review his advancement.
