| Along your journey in scouting you will learn to lead others. Our Troop 132 Leadership Program is an important part of your scouting experience. There are specific leadership requirements associated with rank advancement so you should familiarize yourself with these requirements. Our Junior Leadership Team is made up of boys who are responsible for the operations of Troop 132. Every boy in the troop will have a chance to hold one of the many leadership positions available. Our Scoutmasters Adult Leadership Team (SALT) is responsible for teaching the boys the many skills of scouting and to advise the junior leaders and the troop in their journey through scouting. We have a special member of the SALT team focused on leadership to help teach and grow our leaders. The current SALT advisor for the Troop 132 Leadership Program is Mr. Ken Rapp. He is a coach and mentor for our boy leaders. The Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) is our core troop leadership team. The PLC is chaired by the Senior Patrol Leader and includes all of the patrol leaders responsible for leading our patrols. Also attending the PLC is the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, the Troop Quartermaster, Troop Adventure Guide and the Troop Scribe. The PLC meets once a month with the Scoutmaster to plan the activities for the upcoming month. The Scoutmaster (Mr. Gruber) acts as the key advisor to the PLC. We also have several other leadership positions in the troop that are very important to the operations of the troop. We call these positions our Special Teams Leaders. Our Special Teams program provides leadership for the other key junior troop leaders responsible for our Equipment, Adventures, Library, and History. This team is chaired by the Asst. Senior Patrol Leader and is made up of the Troop Scribe, Troop Quartermaster, Troop Adventure Guide, Troop Librarian, and Troop Historian. Mr. Rapp, is the SALT advisor for this team. In addition, you may opt to help our Cub Scouting program by being a Den Chief providing leadership and assistance to younger scouts as they learn and grow to become Boy Scouts some day. Troop 132 is committed to the leadership development of every boy in the troop. Here are ten tips to being a good leader. You have the opportunity to become a leader in the world.
